FBI Warning: Phantom People May Be Getting Hired By HR Leaders of Tech companies

An unreal colleague, who could be a potential scammer, and have worked is way through remote interviews and hiring! How does that sound?

Everything virtual may not mean good for HR and its hiring processes with deep fakes posing a real danger

A recent TechCrunch article must raise the eyebrows of HR leaders, especially in the IT sector, which reports that the post-pandemic HR troubles are all-set to get doubled with the threat of virtual and unreal profiles, applying for remote job, successfully clearing interviews, and working as unreal people.

According to the article “the FBI has warned of an uptick in cases where “deepfakes” and stolen personal information are being used to apply for jobs in the US.”

Reportedly these profiles steal other profiles and use fake video interviews.

So, while remote working may be good news to whole ocean of workers, we may yet be seeing only one side. The danger to companies could be very real and may need HR-tech with very high degree of security features.

HUMAN FACTOR POINT OF VIEW
Businesses who cut corners when setting themselves up for HR transformations, and do not choose their HR-tech platform with sufficient care or optimum security features may face increasing virtual threats from sophisticated scamsters. Choose wisely.
