What Defines the Success of an HRMS?

According to Nivedita Nanda, Country Director - People & Culture, ISS Facility Services, “A positive employee experience results in an equally positive customer experience, which is key for customer retention and profitability. Compromising on employee experience can lead to a lack of productivity at the workplace, which severely hampers customer service. To create an optimistic, seamless, and engaging workplace experience, having an integrated HR system that talks to all the other systems existing in the organization is absolutely necessary. Additionally, the HRMS should solve be able to provide a personalized experience to individual employees by providing relevant solutions to the unique problems faced by the diverse set of employees belonging to the same organization,”.

Nivedita further added that “Today, HR is not just a people-oriented function. It is a critical business function that directly affects the bottom line. Therefore, the key attribute of a successful HRMS is that it should align with business performance to drive business outcomes through people HR interventions and organizational development tools,”.

The Role of Conversational AI in Engaging a Distributed Workforce

Sharing his thoughts on conversational AI and its use case in terms of employee engagement, Sanjay Kumar Jha, CHRO, Mahindra First Choice Wheels, said, “Establishing a stable connection and a dual communication channel between the remote workers and managers is key to keeping a distributed workforce perpetually engaged. This connection should not be limited to transactional exchanges. Rather, it should encourage a healthy dialogue between managers and subordinates. That is where conversational AI can come into the picture. This technology can nudge leaders to establish a friendly connection with their remote workforce by way of seamless communication.

Sanjay added, “From an employee perspective, conversational AI can also be leveraged to effectively manage the workflow of employees, thus improving their productivity significantly. However, a major grey area in terms of the use case of AI is whether it can be used to identify top-tier talent on the basis of job roles,”.

Utilizing HRMS Data to Provide Business Intelligence

Pushpa Jagadeesan, Head HR, Indo Count Industries, said, “Intelligent HRMS and conversational/ generative AI are relatively new technologies that organizations must adapt to. However, any transformation or adaptation must be backed by a solid reason that is enough to convince stakeholders and create employee buy-in. As end-users, HR teams, employees, and the business as a whole must get something out of the mammoth transformation that is needed to embed such intricate technologies into the HR function. Therefore, an HRMS should be aligned with other organizational systems to not only provide a seamless experience to employees but also collect crucial information from those systems and supply valuable, productive, and strategic business intelligence,”.
