Telangana Public Holidays List 2026

The Telangana Government notified 27 General Holidays and 26 Optional Holidays for 2026 under G.O.Rt.No.1715 dated 6 December 2025. State Government employees may avail up to five Optional Holidays during the year, subject to prior approval. Some General Holidays fall on Saturdays or Sundays, so they may not create an additional working-day closure. This single calendar combines the General and Optional Holidays notified by the Telangana Government. Weekend overlaps are clearly marked so employers can distinguish a notified occasion from an additional working-day closure.

How Telangana Holidays Impact Payroll and Leave Management

For enterprises with teams in Hyderabad and other Telangana locations, holiday calendars affect attendance, leave balances, overtime, shift planning and payroll cut-offs. The impact is more noticeable around Sankranti, Bonalu, Bathukamma and the two-day Dasara break, while lunar-calendar holidays may require a last-minute date update.

For companies operating across Telangana and Andhra Pradesh, location-based holiday calendars are important because the two states do not have identical notified holidays. HONO can help HR teams assign calendars by employee location, manage leave entitlements and keep attendance and payroll rules aligned without maintaining separate manual trackers.
