Assam fixed fresh VDA on 17 June 2026, payable from 1 January 2026, continuing from its notification of 13 February 2026. The wage is built in three parts: a basic rate, the dearness allowance cumulated to date, and the new increment declared here. One change is worth noting beyond the numbers — the notification states that effective dates are being made uniform across all employments, so Assam's scheduled employments now move together rather than on separate cycles.

Two things to check first

The rates took effect from 1 January 2026 but were notified on 17 June 2026, so arrears are due for the intervening months. The same four category rates apply across every employment listed in the notification, so there is no industry-wise table to check.

Scheduled Employments: Wage Rates by Category

Every figure comes from the notification. Total wages per month is the basic wage plus the previous cumulated VDA plus the new VDA, and the daily figure is that total divided by 26.

Almost certainly. The rates take effect from 1 January 2026 but the notification issued on 17 June 2026, so roughly five and a half months fall due retrospectively.

Run the difference between what you paid and the new total for every month from January onward.

Every state revises wages on its own calendar. Payroll has to keep up with all of them.

HONO builds statutory compliance into the payroll calculation itself, so wage floors, PF, ESI and Professional Tax are applied per state and per employee class rather than reconciled afterwards.
