Punjab fixed fresh minimum wages on 1 May 2026 under Section 8(3) of the Code on Wages, 2019, after the Advisory Board reported and the Punjab Minimum Wages Advisory Board was consulted. The rates apply to all employments in the state, so there is no schedule to check your industry against. Two features set Punjab apart: alongside the four manual skill grades it notifies four staff categories graded by qualification, and it prints an hourly rate as well as a monthly and daily one.

Two things to check first

Brick kiln rates are excluded and will be notified separately. Apprentices engaged under the Apprentices Act, 1961 are regulated under that Act rather than by these figures. Agriculture is rated separately, at the foot of this page.

All Employments: Basic Minimum Rates by Worker and Staff Category

All three figures come from the notification. The daily rate is the monthly wage divided by 26, and the hourly rate follows from an eight-hour working day.

Every state revises wages on its own calendar. Payroll has to keep up with all of them.

HONO builds statutory compliance into the payroll calculation itself, so wage floors, PF, ESI and Professional Tax are applied per state and per employee class rather than reconciled afterwards.
