Gujarat builds its minimum wage in two parts: a basic rate fixed by skill class and zone, and a Variable Dearness Allowance (VDA) added on top and revised twice a year. The rates below are for shops and establishments and apply from 1 April 2026. The VDA is ₹60.50 a day for every class in both zones, so the gap between one row and the next comes entirely from the basic.
Two things to check first
Find your zone before your skill class, because Zone I carries a higher basic in every class. Then note that each monthly figure is simply the daily total multiplied by 26, so if you pay by the day, work from the daily rate.
Gujarat Minimum Wages for Shops and Establishments, from 1 April 2026
All figures are in rupees. Total per day is the basic plus the VDA, and total per month is the daily total multiplied by 26. The starred column is the monthly minimum wage payable for each class and zone.

Rates are as notified by the Labour and Employment Department, Government of Gujarat, and apply for the six months from 1 April 2026 to 30 September 2026. The VDA is reviewed every six months, in April and October. This table shows the shops and establishments rates only; other scheduled employments have their own rates in the notification.
