Rajasthan revised its minimum wages by gazette of 13 December 2024, superseding the notification of 28 June 2022, but made the new rates effective from 1 January 2023. That gap of almost two years is the first thing to plan for, because it means arrears. The revision follows a consumer price index rise of 687 points for the Jaipur, Alwar and Bhilwara centres over the period from 1 July 2021 to 31 December 2022, and it covers 51 scheduled employments in Part 1 plus agriculture in Part 2.
Two things to check first
These rates are for the general schedule. Domestic workers, brick kiln workers, sales promotion employees and workers on rural development schemes are notified separately on the same date and are not on this table. If you already pay more than these figures, the higher existing rate is protected and must continue.
51 Scheduled Employments and Agriculture: Wage Rates by Category
Both figures come from the gazette. The daily rate is the monthly wage divided by 26, which is the divisor the notification prescribes for calculating a day's pay.
| Category of worker | Basic rate / month | ★ Basic rate / day |
|---|---|---|
| Unskilled | 7,410 | 285 |
| Semi-skilled | 7,722 | 297 |
| Skilled | 8,034 | 309 |
| Highly skilled | 9,334 | 359 |
The rates in each category include the weekly holiday's wages, and they include dearness allowance, the cash value of concessions on essential commodities, and cash value in lieu of amenities, if any.
